MegaUpload Timeline From 2005 to 2012 [Infographic]

I have to admit that I really like Infographics as they are a very simple way to combine information in to an easily readable image. The one thing I didn’t know though, was how people made them, so I made it my mission today to try to figure it out.

Luckily, there are a few sites out there that enable you to create them fairly simply, although some are pretty limited at the moment as to how much control you have in its creation.

The first place I went to was visual.ly as that is definitely the place with the largest collection. There they do have a way to create them, but at the moment, you are limited to using basic templates involving either Twitter or Facebook. They say that they are going to expand the range much further, but for now, that’s no good.

So a further Google, led me to easel.ly which is a great site. Here you can also create Infographics but have a lot more control over your creation. Signing up and creating is free, and you are given a new canvas on which to create. It’s a drag-and-drop process, plus they give you some basic templates to get started. You aren’t able to expand the canvas size at the moment, hence I couldn’t put all the information on there that I wanted to but hopefully they will change that.

Here is my very first attempt. All-in-all it took about 1hrs to do, although you may well be quicker.
