The announcement was made by Michael Gamble who is a Producer on the Mass Effect franchise at BioWare. There wasn’t any information on what we can expect in the DLC, but he did hint at what it could be

Unfortunately there is bad news for Mass Effect players on the Wii U, as a tweet from the official Mass Effect Twitter account in reply to a users question confirmed that the Omega DLC for Mass Effect 3 which will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 for $15, won’t be made available to Wii U users when it launches on November 27th. However, in reply to another users question, they did at least hint that a DLC update may well be in the future for Wii U users.
@wavetradeinc Unfortunately it will not be available for Wii U.
