During the initial run up to Star Wars episode VII being released, Google released a theme pack that would affect Android Wear, Chrome, Chromecast, Gmail, Inbox by Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Maps, Google Now, Google Search, Google Translate, Waze, and YouTube. All you had to do, and you can still try it out if you would like, was to simply follow the Google Star Wars link and select either The Dark Side, or The Light Side. The effects were pretty cool initially, but if you tend to use certain apps like YouTube a lot then the integration of this theme started to grate especially when adjusting the volume in YouTube.
However, to set your Google apps back to their default settings is very straight forward and only takes a few seconds to do. Simply follow the steps below and you are good to go.
Firstly, head on over to google.com/starwars and select Change Side.
Next, move your avatar from either The Dark Side or The Light Side, to the middle.
Once your avatar is in the middle, you will see a link saying, Back To Default. Select that to return your settings back to normal across all the affected Google apps.
That’s it. The changes should take place immediately. If you would like to go back and start using the Star Wars themes again, simply go back to the main link (top of the page) and choose a side again.
